After quite a few months I’ve finally been able to finish my new short story. It’s called Abschiedsbrief, which translates to “suicide note”. And yeah, I guess that title says it all. Not exactly a happy tale, but not too grim either. Not your typical suicide note, I think. Stylistically it was an experiment for me, which I will most likely not try to replicate in the future. Probably not my best work, but at least something that reflects some of the moods and thoughts I’ve experienced in the last few months. You can download the story here:

Things have been pretty crazy lately. First I moved out of my apartment and back to my parents’ place. Then I was contacted by an online ajency in Cologne a few weeks ago who wanted me to work for them. So I quickly had to find an apartment, and I will be moving to Cologne and starting the job next week. To be honest, I’m quite nervous (for quite a few reasons) and feel overwhelmed, but I guess I should be happy that things are moving forward for once.
Not sure if I’ll have the time to update this website any time soon or work on new projects. I think this whole thing feels incredibly dated and I would have to rewrite the entire website to be happy with it. But that will most likely not be happening.
So there we are. New chances, old fears, demons and dreams.

The new year is already a few days old, but I still haven’t posted anything about two big projects I finished last year. So here I go…
The first one is really quite a big thing: I finally got my master’s degree in December. Yeah, from now on I’m Master of Arts. Whatever that means. I wrote my master’s thesis about rather new ways of consuming and distributing music, films and video games (like Spotify or Kickstarter) and how those change our relationships to media products. I also created a website and short film as a part of the thesis, which I can now finally showcase. The website is www.wir-lieben-medien.de (“We Love Media!”). And you can watch the film either on the website or right here:
The second big project I finished at the end of last year is www.auslandsaufenthalt.org, which I did for the company I’m currently working for. I was responsible for large parts of the concept, structure and content management, and I also wrote most of the texts for the site.
As for the new year: There are a lot of question marks in the air and a lot of things I’ve got to figure out. I’m not sure how much longer I’ll be working (or able to work) at my current job and I’m definitely looking for something new and interesting in a larger city. So I don’t know how much longer I’ll be staying in this town, either.
